After the dim and gold days of winter, there’s nothing like those first few bursts of color that indicate the arrival of springtime.
The official first day of spring is March 20. So, for this year’s spring Starbucks fans will notice a slight change when they make an order, a decorative spring cup.
Starbucks customers are used to seeing their favorite hot beverages in red cups during the holiday season. But now, the Seattle-based coffee chain will be offering in three colors.
The colors are inspired by Pantone’s springtime trends: A sunny yellow (Venti), a robin’s egg blue (Grande), and a leafy green (Tall). Some of the cups are minimalist, with no logo or other markings aside from a white circle in place of where Starbucks’ logo would go. Others have what look like Sharpie doodles.
Each tall, grande and venti size gets its own cheerful color with white dots and hand-drawn designs including a sun and umbrella.
Sorry iced beverage drinkers; the new cups are for hot coffee only.
Like the coffee giant’s popular, 20-year-old holiday tradition of red holiday cups, these spring cups will be available for a limited time.
Starbucks fans can expect to see the cups for a few days only beginning on March 16 announced Starbucks.
